What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)?
PPF is a thermoplastic urethane film applied to painted surfaces of a new or used car in order to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatters, and minor abrasions.
How Do I Take Care of PPF?
Simply wash the car as your would regularly. Remove insect or other stains with bug and tar remover. Stubborn stains can be cleaned with lacquer thinner or 99% isopropyl alcohol. Take care not to let these chemicals touch the vehicles paint. Avoid using a pressure washer in close proximity of the film or exposed edges. A pressure washer may be used on the film, but keep the nozzle minimum of 12-16 inches away from the film.
We also are an Authorized Chemical Guys Reseller and stock a full product line to properly and safely clean your vehicle.
I just had PPF applied on my car, what do I do now?
Wait at least 48 hours prior to washing the car. Avoid any chemicals within the first two days to touch the edges of the film until it has fully cured. Also avoid agitating the film as the adhesive is curing, sometimes with fresh film, your fingernails or fingers can cause marring in the adhesive and will not heal properly afterwards.
When is the best time to get PPF applied?
As soon as possible. We work with many new car dealerships throughout GTA. Over 80% of the cars we work on have less than 500km on them!!! Keep your car preserved by booking an appointment with us to protect your cars paint.
How does PPF work?
PPF or Clear Bra is like a bullet proof vest for your vehicle. Imagine a stone flying through the air and hitting your car directly where it is wrapped with PPF. The object (rock) will carry energy but when it impacts the PPF, the films thermoplastic urethane and adhesive create a net to absorb all the energy, and saving your vehicles paint from an unwanted stone chip.
Is there any warranty associated with PPF?
Yes!!!! Depending of the film you choose to get for your car, warranty will range from a minimum of 5 years up to 10 years!
What is the difference with PPF and Paint Protection Coatings?
PPF is a physical layer of protection that will defend your vehicle against physical objects. Paint Coatings are a new style of protection in a chemical form. These are great protection for acid rain, bird droppings, water spots etc…. But did you know? All the PPF we carry is top coated which has a coating on top of the film to protect the vehicle from bird droppings, acid rain, to brake fluid and paint thinner!!!!
Did you know...? We are also a certified CeramicPro installers?
Can PPF be coated with a quartz/ceramic coating?
Absolutely!!!! We are an authorized CeramicPro Light installer, and highly recommend to have the PPF coated.
